Dayo Movie

It is a story of an 11-year-old boy named Bubuy (voiced by Nash Aguas) whose grandparents were abducted into the magical and mystical world of Elementalia thriving with creatures anchored in Philippine mythology like manananggal (winged-creature that can separate torso from lower body), kapre (sort of big beast who smoke cigars), nuno (tiny creatures that live in a mound of soil), and aswang (shape-shifting creatures).

This film proved that Philippine animators could create a well-crafted masterpiece that Filipinos could be proud of not just here but across the globe.

Although Filipino animation is not that advanced compare to other big international animations, Dayo's creation should be celebrated as it carries the pride and creative minds of almost 500 brilliant animators in the country.

With an estimated production cost of US$1.3 million, this cartoon film is a combination of 2D and 3D animation powered by Toon Boom using Macintosh and Linux platforms.

The soundtrack of the film entitled "Lipad" was performed by world-class singer Lea Salonga. It was recorded together with Filharmonika under the baton of Gerard Salonga.

Aside from Nash, the film also features the voices of Katrina Legaspi (Anna), Pokwang (Vicky), Michael V (Narsi), Noel Trinidad (Lolo Meong), Nova Villa (Lola Nita), Johnny Delgado (Carpio), Peque Gallaga (Nano), Laurice Guillen (Diwata/Bruha), Gabe Mercado (Jo), and Pocholo Gonzales (Toti).

Petrang Kabayo Movie

Peter Kasimsiman ( played byVice Ganda) was once a obedient son to his parents. But after losing his mother at a tender age. He was left with an abusive father who is only interested in tending to his carriage horse, Brown Beauty. Peter is eager to win the love and attention of his indifferent Dad, but an unfortunate incident forces him to run away from home.

His life starts to change course when he meets Helena (Played by Eugene Domingo), the nurturing haciendera who provides him with shelter and the absolute affection from his father would never be able to give. Even though fueled with the guidance of the good-natured foster mother, who’s known for her passionate concern for her employees, Peter has an intolerable bad temper especially towards his mother’s loyal servant, Maita and the latter’s beautiful and gifted daughter, Samantha. Peter’s almost ideal life is threatened as people from the hacienda worship the beauty and goodwill of Samantha. These include the estate’s striking horse trainer Erickson, the good-looking veterinarian Dickson and even the trusted estate horse Sylvester. Add the unwanted presence of his long-lost sister, Peter’s life seems like an everyday living hell.

Little did Peter know that Diobayo, the Goddess of Horses, watches every move he makes as he grows oblivious to other people and the surrounding horses’ needs. To teach Peter a painful lesson, Diobayo transforms him into the horse Petra whenever he acts surly and proud.

Will Peter stick to his grumpy personality? Or will he be able to use his “horse instinct” to change for the better?
